SUMMARY:Small Town (Closing Night)
DESCRIPTION:Small Town is a satirical\, character-driven dramedy full of humour and heart. Written by local\, award winning songwriter and playwright\, Megan Hutton. \nIn Monroe\, tradition reigns\, Main Street is both courthouse and gathering place\, and change sparks chaos. When mayoral hopeful Kyle Monroe’s manifesto leaks\, rumours fly\, old routines crumble\, and fear spreads. Kate Wright  puts the town’s newspaper up for sale\, Cecilia Parish fans town wide panic\, and Mayor Lyle clings to fading stability. Friendships fracture\, secrets surface\, and the town must reckon with what matters most—its past\, its people\, its future. \nStarring Aaron Armstrong\, Bill McMahon and featuring performances from Amy Reid\, Bill Petch\, Gabriel Guadagnin\, John P Betts\, Carol Manheimm\, Jay Scott and Melissa MacDonald. \nDirected by Megan Hutton and Sam Hirst. Original Score by Megan Hutton and Pete Manheimm. \nThis event runs the following dates:  \nJuly 14\, 15\,16\, 17\,18\, 21\, 22\, 23\, 24\, 25 \n

SUMMARY:Bay+Back | Ohyarihkó:wa / July
DESCRIPTION:The Intention\n Go outside Embrace the season Wander and wonder with your neighbours Notice and reflect on the land\n\nThe Invitation\nLooking to get outside more? Join this 1.5hr(ish) monthly wander to wonder about the species and ecologies that follow Marsh Creek between Glenwood Cemetery and Picton Bay. It’s a chance to observe seasonal changes\, meet your neighbours\, get to know the landscape and the many plants and animals that use it\, and contribute to collective mapping and community science.\n\nEveryone is welcome. There is no fee to participate.\n\nThe Offer\nWith Marsh Creek as our guide\, we’ll weave through Delhi Park to observe what’s on the grow\, which cute dogs are at the park\, and take mental notes of various plant and animal kin. After we reach the Bay\, we’ll document them together over tea as part of a larger living map project.\n\nWe’ll supply the map(s) and tea.\n\nThe Ask\nThat you bring your whole self\, your curiosity\, your willingness to embrace the season and a sense of play! You listen fully to others\, tread lightly\, and ask lots of questions – especially the ones that feel ‘stupid’.\n\nBring yourself dressed for the weather\, and a cup or mug for tea. We go rain or shine.\n\nThe Details\nWe’ll start the wander from the east end of Picton Rotary Park under the spruce trees – this is across the street from the entrance to Glenwood Cemetery (where you can park for free). Becky will be walking back to Rotary Park at the end\, but folks are also welcome to depart from other locations along the way.\n\nThe wander will be approximately 2km in total on roads\, grass\, gravel and dirt paths with several opportunities to take traverse steep and uneven surfaces.\n\nWe’ll start the walk shortly after 10 am\, if you’re late or lost you can text Becky at 613-503-1309 and are welcome to try to come find us or meet us somewhere along the way.

SUMMARY:Free Vineyard-Side Summer Music Series at The Grange of Prince Edward (Prince Edward County Jazz Festival Event)
DESCRIPTION:Kind of Groove \n(Prince Edward County Jazz Festival) \nAs part of the Prince Edward County Jazz Festival\, The Grange of Prince Edward Winery’s free Vineyard-Side Music Series welcomes Kind of Groove. “Kind of Groove” is a high-energy ensemble built around deep pocket\, feel\, and musical chemistry. Featuring Blair Yarranton (trumpet & effects)\, Martin Traynor (guitar & voice)\, Phil Woodard (bass)\, and Gary Buffett (bass)\, the group dives into groove-driven music that blurs the line between jazz\, funk\, and soul. Inspired by the electric-era explorations of icons like Herbie Hancock\, Freddie Hubbard\, and Miles Davis—while weaving in reimagined grooves and textures drawn from artists like Bill Withers\, Stevie Ray Vaughan\, and The Temptations—Kind of Groove delivers a sound that is anything but traditional. This isn’t a sit-and-listen jazz act; it’s a dynamic\, feel-good jam band that locks into infectious rhythms and invites audiences to move\, connect\, and ride the groove. \nGuests are encouraged to RSVP by emailing events@grangeofprinceedward.com to reserve their spot and receive a complimentary wine tasting.
